The Point
Edward Blackhawks Novice squad finished their
regular season with a 10-1 win against the visiting
Strathroy Rockets.
The early stages of the game were not representative
of the final score. Strathroy tested the Division
leaders with dominant play in the Point Edward end
of the ice. Goalie Luke Crombeen played one of his
best games of the season, withstanding the onslaught
from the Rockets. Somehow the Point managed to
emerge from the shelling with a 2-0 lead after the
frist!
The team managed to open up the score in the final 2
periods with 3 goals from Owen Shearon, a pair of
goals from Ethan Pereira, a pair from Ryder Nienhuis
and singles from 3 other players. Logan Beauvais
scored his first goal of the season, to the delight
of the crowd and his teammates!
