After dropping the first game to
Monkton in their best of seven,
the Petrolia Squires rebound
with a shutout performance from
Justin Day, as the Squires take
game two 3-0.
After no scoring in the first period, the Squires got a pair of goals from their leading scoring, as Jason Polera scored shorthanded in the first half of the second period to make it 1-0, while then adding a second goal minutes later to put the Squires up 2-0.
Monkton was not able to respond to either goals, and by early third period the Squires Mitch Zavitz made it 3-0 for Petrolia.
Day held the shutout and the Squires take game two. The series is now tied 1-1.
Game three goes March 4th in Monkton. Game four in Petrolia on March 6th and game five on March 11.
