Nationals come from behind to win game one

The London Nationals have drawn first blood in their playoff series with the Sarnia Legionnaires.

Josh Sidwell scored in the first overtime session Saturday to give the Nats a 2-1 come-from-behind victory in the first game of the best-of-seven Western Ontario Hockey Conference quarterfinal.

Owen Rogers had given Sarnia a 1-0 lead with a power-play marker at 6:57 of the second period. Brent Sullivan and Nathan Mater drew assists.

The goal came within 1:52 seconds of holding up as the winner. But London's Noah Schwartz tied the contest late in the third period, forcing the extra session..

Both teams had 30 shots on net.

Kyle Washer took the loss for Sarnia, while Taylor Edwards got the win for London.

Game two goes tonight at the Sarnia Arena, with the puck drop set for 7:10 p.m.
