The
Alvinston Flyers are now tied in second place with
the Mooretown Flags after a 5-1 victory over the
Dresden Jr. Kings. Though Mooretown still has two
games to play to play as many as Alvinston, it has
made a close race in the North Division.
Alvinston
opened up the game with three goals straight. Dan
Warner, Chase Clark and Ryan Dayman put the Flyers
up 3-0 before Dresden's Wendel Mertz put in a
powerplay goal to make it 3-1.
But
Dresden would not be able to find the back of the
net again for the rest of the game, as despite
putting 22 shots on net in the second period alone.
Chase Clark found the net again for his second of
the game in the second to make it a 4-1 game. In the
third, Kyle Brothers would score on the powerplay to
make it 5-1 final.
Brandon
Campbell stopped 42 of 43 shots for his 12th victory
of the season, while Eric Steinman stopped 42 of 47
shots in the loss.
Dresden
will take on Kingsville on Wednesday, December 22nd,
while Alvinston will take on Wheatley on Monday,
December 27th.
