Sarnia Jr.
Sting Minor Atom MD 2 - West London Hawks 0
Stevie Schaefer and Cameron Stevens shared a
shut-out on Friday December 17 at the Clearwater
Arena as the Sarnia Jr. Sting Minor Atom MD defeated
the West London Hawks by a score of 2-0.
All of the scoring was accomplished in the second
period. Zac Moore pushed the puck forward on a face
off in the Sarnia end and skated it the length of
the ice before beating the visitors goalie to get
the first dinger and the eventual game winner.
The Jr. Sting have been involving their blue liners
more in the offensive zone and it paid off this game
as Logan Johnston fired home a low hard wrist shot
from the right point with one minute left in the
second frame. Damon Skinn-Wai and Collin Zimmer were
awarded assists on the play.
The Hawks held the game close and although most of
the play was in the West London Zone, Cam and Stevie
were called upon to face at least one break away
each to earn the win.
The Jr. Sting will enjoy a much deserved break over
Christmas and return to action on Wednesday December
29 when they travel to London to play a make-up game
against the Bandits.
