Wallaceburg scored
three in the third to take a 5-1 victory over the
Alvinston Flyers Friday night in Alvinston.
Both teams
went scoreless in first, but Wallaceburg would put
22 shots on net in the second period and find the
back of the net twice. Norm Leger opened the scoring
at 15:21 in the second to make it 1-0 for the
Lakers. But just over a minute later, Kyle Brothers
would score his 9th of the season to tie the game at
1-1. But the Lakers would retake the lead forty-one
seconds later, as Rob Pollock made it 2-1 heading
into the third.
In the
third, the Lakers put 16 shots on net and found the
back of the net three times. Shawn Lubbers, Tyson
Isaac and Tyler Lewis each scored for the Lakers.
Matt
Berglund won his 18th of the season, stopping 23 of
24 shots. Brandon Campbell made 42 saves on 48 shots
in the loss.
Wallaceburg still remains in first place in the
North Division, while Alvinston remains in third,
two points behind Mooretown. The Lakers will play in
Mooretown Saturday, while Alvinston will take on
Dresden on Sunday, December 19th.
