Sarnia
Lady Sting split a pair of games on the weekend.
Losing 4-3 to Bluewater Hawks and winning 5-0 to
Brantford Ice Cats.
Saturday's game was in Strathroy. The game was very
evenly matched and could have went to either team,
but Sarnia came up just a little short. Goal scorers
were Sierra Butler with two and Megan Moore with the
other. Assists were not available at this time.
Sunday's home game was another very well played game
by the Sting. Sarnia opened the scoring in the
second on a beautiful goal by Marlowe Pecora as she
skated around the defense to go in alone. It was
unassisted. Shortly after Megan Moore would score on
a bullet from the point. But she wasn't done yet.
Only minutes later Megan Moore would net her second
of the game to bring Sarnia up 3-0. Assisting on
these goals were Karly Dobbin with two. Maddison
Turner and Jillian Rops with one a piece. Late into
the third period Darian Adams tipped one into the
net on a perfect pass from Jillian Rops. Rounding
off the game, Amy VandenEynde would fire a hard shot
from the line, never giving the goal minder a
chance. Megan Moore would pick up the assist. Erica
Sullivan earned a well deserved win and shutout.
In a very close race, Sarnia is currently sitting in
third place in their division. Two point out of
second place. They have a tough weekend coming up,
as they have to travel both Saturday and Sunday
evening. For a pair of away games against Stratford
and Kitchener.
