Drydak takes over points lead for Legionnaires
dan mccaffery December 13th, 2010

There's a new leader at the head of the Sarnia Legionnaires scoring parade.

Jesse Drydak's four-point game in Chatham Sunday vaulted him into first place among Sarnia point-getters with 35. He also leads the club in goals, with 20 to his credit.

Crafty playmaker Shawn Waldie, who had been the team's top scorer for most of the season, is now in second, a scant one point behind Drydak.

Drydak's total does not include a shootout goal he scored Sunday to give the Legionnaires a 5-4 win over the Maroons.

Owen Rogers, who missed five games earlier this campaign to injury, is third in team scoring, with 26 points. And Captain Tyler Cicchini, who missed seven contests during the early part of the year, is fourth with two dozen points to his credit.

Game winners

When it comes to game winning goals, Drydak is in first place with five.

Brett Thompson and Ilya Arkalov have two game winners each for the Legionnaires.

Single game winners, meanwhile, have gone to Andy Sokol, Brent Sauve, Tanner Tomlinson, Jeff Schroeter and Rogers.

Goalie leaders

On the goaltending front, Sarnia's Kyle Washer has the third most wins among the 18 netminders in the Western Ontario Hockey Conference.

Washer, who has appeared in only 19 games, has 12 victories. Marc Nother of Strathroy, who has played in 22 contests, leads with 16 wins.

Sarnia's other goalie, Mike Reed, has been improving his record in recent days. In fact, in his last three starting assignments he has picked up two wins and a shootout loss, helping the team collect five of a possible six points.
