The Point
Edward Atom
Blackhawks
hosted South
Huron in
Lambton-Middlesex
league
action and
came away
with a 6-1
win with
Nolan
Gladwish
leading the
way with a 4
point game.
South Huron
started the
game flat
footed and
allowed
Gladwish to
get the
Point team
on the board
10 seconds
into the
game by
winning the
face-off and
beating the
South Huron
defense. The
Hawks came
to play as
shown by
their
aggressive
play which
kept the
South Huron
team off
balance
allowing the
Hawks to
keep the
puck in the
South Huron
end. With
some good
passing,
Robson hit
an open Noah
Best who
made it 2-0
by the
mid-point of
the period.
Shortly
thereafter,
the Point
capitalized
when South
Huron
couldn’t
clear the
zone with
Luciani
intercepting
a pass
letting
Horner set
up Gladwish
for a 3-0
lead.
The start of
the second
was a repeat
of the first
with the
Point
scoring 20
seconds into
the period
when
Gladwish got
his
hat-trick
off a
Jonathan
King
rebound.
South Huron
was able to
retaliate as
the Point
defense got
caught
pinching in
to make it
4-1. Within
seconds of
the
retaliatory
goal,
Laframboise
took a
slapper from
the top of
the South
Huron
face-off
circle and
hit the top
corner to
give the
Hawks a four
goal
advantage
going into
the third.
The
remaining of
the game saw
the Hawks
fore-checking
working very
well and
while
shorthanded
due to
getting into
penalty
trouble,
they held
off the
South Huron
team.
Hocking was
able to get
a final
shorthanded
goal to end
the game at
6-1.
