Toronto, ON – The Canadian Hockey League today announced that Scott Wedgewood of the Plymouth Whalers is the Vaughn CHL Goaltender of the Week for the week ending November 28. Wedgewood earned two wins including a shutout victory posting a goals-against-average of .820 and save percentage of .974.

Wedgewood began the week with a shutout performance on Thanksgiving in Plymouth Thursday night as first star of a 3-0 win over Michigan rivals the Saginaw Spirit. He made 37 saves including 17 in the third period to earn his second shutout of the season. The next night he made 27 saves to help the Whalers hold onto a 4-2 win over the London Knights on Friday. Wedgewood also stopped all 10 shots he faced on Saturday in relief despite a 4-1 loss to the Peterborough Petes.

Wedgewood, an 18-year-old from Brampton, ON, is playing in his third OHL season with the Whalers. In 22 games so far this season, the Carolina Hurricanes prospect is tied for the second best goals-against-average and save percentage in the OHL with marks of 2.48 and .920 respectively.
