The Jr. Sting hosted Sun (Essex) County Panthers on Saturday afternoon with Lambton hoping to build on a strong finish on Tuesday.
Play went back and forth in the first but no scoring resulted. Max Steeves got the home side a 1-0 lead. Sun County tied it up later in the first knocking home a rebound to make it 1-1. Sun County went up 2-1 scoring on a long slapper that found the top corner. Max Steeves replied with his second of the day when he tipped in a Conner Royer shot.
Jared Pageau got the lead back for the Jr. Sting. Lambton hung onto the lead with Ethan Hunt playing a strong third but very late in the period, when the Panthers, with their goalie pulled, were able to poke one home from close range to tie the game 3-3 with only 2 seconds left on the clock.
The game ended in 3-3 draw.
Max Steeves had two goals and an assist.
Jared Pageau had one goal.
Conner Royer had one assist.
Ethan Hunt had a good effort in net.
