The Sarnia Major Atom Sting had their winning streak come to an end on the weekend after winning 9 straight games.  Sarnia would win 3 -2 in Cambridge on Saturday before falling to St. Thomas by the same 3 – 2 score on Sunday.

In Cambridge on Saturday, the Sting would outplay the Cambridge Hawks for the majority of the game and squeak out a 3 – 2  win.  Goal scoring in this game was provided by Curtis Marks (assist Brett Allardyce) on the power play and Lucas Ross (assist Jordan Hurtubise, Dakota Moore) and Devin Devooght (Justin Houle, Mackenzie Caley).

On Sunday, the Sting the Sting would suffer from a bad bounce on the 1^st shift of the game to fall behind to St. Thomas 1 – 0 early.  Sarnia would be able to settle down their game and the tempo of the game gradually swung towards the Sting.  Sarnia would finally get on the scoresheet as Brett Allardyce (assist Jake Vince, Matthew Torti) banged in a loose puck in front of the St. Thomas goal and minutes later Matthew Torti (assist Austin Coutts, Tristan Haagsma) would snap in a wrist shot to finish off a nice passing play and Sarnia would take a 2 - 1 lead.  St. Thomas would respond with a power play goal just before the buzzer and the teams would head to the 3^rd period tied at 2.  Sarnia continued to apply good pressure in the 3^rd period including some good opportunities on the power play.  However, it would be St. Thomas who would make the most of a late power play opportunity and the Sting would run out of time and lose the game 3 – 2.
