The St. Clair Colts put up eight goals on the SCITS Blue Bombers a week after getting eight goals scored on them last week by St. Christopher's, in a 8-2 victory over the Bombers.
St. Clair managed the pace of the game, passing the puck around in the Bomber zone and getting shots close to the net. Unfortunately for the Bombers, the shots that hit the net, goalie Jordan Mitchell had a hard time stopping them, as three slap shots would find the back of the net after Mitchell got a piece of them.
Matt Ward would get things started for the Colts on the powerplay, slapping a bullet from the point that trickled through the pads of Mitchell and rolled into the net. SCITS would tie up the game, as Dan Bowling got the puck in front and put it in on the Colt goalie to make things 1-1 after the first.
The Colts would retake the lead as Dan Lumley would pick up a rebound and put it passed Mitchell. But again the Bombers would tie things up, as Macgregor Madden came out from the corner and jumped it in on Steven Taylor. But the Colts would not let this period go to a tie, as Denver Spearman scores the goal of the game, spinning around a def
ender on a one-on-one, then back handing the puck at the end of his spin to beat Mitchell. Lumley would add a goal on the delayed penalty as the Colts took a 4-2 lead.
From there, the Colts took over, as Matt Brandon and Sean Smith each took slap shots that squeaked by Mitchell to put the Colts up by four. Smith would add another as he steals a blind pass from SCITS at his own blue line and scores short handed on a breakaway to make it 7-3. Karsten Berg would add one more for the Colts to take it 8-2.
With the victory, St. Clair earns their second win of the year, and move into fourth position. They will next take on North Lambton on Thursday December 9th. SCITS has not won a game this season and will look for their first win when they make up the week one match up against St. Patrick's on Thursday as well.
