Point Edward Novice outscored their opponents 19-3 this weekend with decisive wins over Lambton Shores Red (8-2) and Strathroy Red (11-1).

The road trip started in Forest on Friday night. The game started off slowly with single goals in the first and second. Lambton Shores scored late in the second to cut the lead to one goal. The Blackhawks came out scoring in the third period with 2 goals in the first minute of play. They added 3 more goals before Lambton Shores muscled one past Luke Crombeen late in the third. Point Edward scored their final goal of the period to end the game on a high note.

 On Saturday, the team travelled down the 402 to Strathroy.  Despite little rest after their evening game in Forest, the boys were up to the challenge!  After only 20 seconds, Shaun McDermott scored his first of four goals in the game. Luke Crombeen was challenged on a number of shots, making some outstanding saves. The final score could have easily been very different if not for some outstanding goaltending.

With the pair of wins, Point Edward sits near the top of their division at 9-1-1. None of the divisional teams in Novice West are undefeated at this point in the season. Luke Crombeen is maintaining a 1.55 GAA with a solid defensive corps in front of him. Next week the Blackhawks will be returning to Strathroy to face the Strathroy Blue squad to finish out their fifth road game in a row.
