On Friday December 3 at the Clearwater Arena the Sarnia Jr. Sting Minor Atom MD defeated the Stratford Warriors by a score of 1 – 0.

Cameron Stevens and Stevie Schaefer shared the shut-out while the defense pairings of Kaz Gudelis/Gavin Lauzon, Damon Skinn-Wai/Logan Johnston, and Beynon Jonas/Thomas Cardinal held the Warriors to few chances.

There was no scoring in the first two periods of this defensive gem as both teams fought hard but could not convert their chances to goals. Sarnia had the lions share of the opportunities but the Warriors goalie came up with save after save, sometimes denying the Jr. Sting with the puck on the goal line.

Finally Collin Zimmer was rewarded for his hard work with another game winning goal as he poked the puck past the Stratford net-minder at the 6 minute mark of the third. Assists were awarded to Mathew Waun and Logan Johnston. The Jr. Sting held the visitors off for the rest of the third frame and increased their season league record to 9 wins and 1 loss.

The Minor Atom Md team travels to London on Monday December 6 to face the London Bandits.
