Ilderton and
came away
with a
second win
in a row in
as many
days.
The Hawks
got off to a
slow start
as their
passes
weren’t
hitting
their sticks
but they
were able to
keep the
puck in the
Ilderton
end. Mid-way
through the
first
period, as
the Point
managed to
start
hitting
their passes
Jonathan
King got
things
rolling with
a goal from
the blue
line to make
it 1-0.As
the period
came to a
close,
Cunningham
charged the
net and
Hocking was
able to get
the rebound
and give the
Hawks a
comfortable
2-0 lead
going into
the second.
The
Blackhawks
opened flood
gates in the
second as
the Point’s
defense held
the Jets at
their
blue-line
and action
was mainly
in the Jets
zone.
Laframboise
started the
scoring in
the second
with a wrist
shot from
the top of
the face-off
circle. The
second half
of the
period saw
King,
Gladwish and
Kennedy turn
on the red
light to
give the
Hawks a 6-0
lead.
The last
period saw
the Jets
wore down
from the
Hawks
constant
fore-checking
and tight
defense. The
Point
extended
their lead
to 10-0 with
goals from
Best(2),
Horner and
Gladwish.
Ilderton
continued to
fight and
they managed
to ruin the
shut-out as
they caught
the Hawks
off-guard to
end the game
10-1.
Reinders and
MacDonald
shared the
goaltending
duties.
