The Sarnia
Jr. Sting Minor Atom MD played a home and home
versus the London Bandits on December 29th and 30th
and gained victories in both games to boast a 14-1
regular season record.
The Jr. Sting travelled to London on Wednesday and
defeated the Bandits 6-2. Scoring for Sarnia was
Collin Zimmer, Evan Trigatti, Nathan Oliphant with
2, Ian Bailey and Zander Campbell. Assists were
awarded to Nathan Oliphant, Gavin Lauzon, Kaz
Gudelis, Hayden Griffin with 2 and Ian Bailey.
Cameron Stevens stood between the pipes for Sarnia
this day and played a great game. Beynon Jonas had
an especially strong game on defense.
On Thursday the Bandits visited Sarnia and were
defeated 9-2. Nathan Oliphant had a four point night
with two goals and two assists. Hayden Griffin had
two goals and one assist; Collin Zimmer had two
goals and one assist; Ian Bailey scored a goal on a
beautiful pass from Zac Moore; Zac got a goal of his
own from Ian Bailey and Ryan Eyre; Mathew Waun also
scored with assists being awarded to Ian Bailey and
Zander Campbell. Thomas Cardinal assisted on
Griffins first goal and Kaz Gudelis was awarded an
assist on Collin Zimmer’s 2nd goal.
Stevie Schaefer played in net for the Jr. Sting this
day and had another solid game for Sarnia. The Jr.
Sting will face the 2nd place Stratford Warriors for
their first game of 2011 on Friday January 7, 7:00
at the Clearwater Arena.
