The Jr
Sting AAA PeeWee's battled to a four point weekend
in three divisional games in league action. The team
defeated Elgin Middlesex Chiefs at home Friday night
4-2, tied Windsor on the road 2-2 and finally tied
Sun County Panthers at home 3-3.
In their best effort of the weekend the Lambton
squad relied on their powerplay units for all four
of the goals on route to a well deserved victory.
Scoring in the contest was provided by Brett Barnes,
Patrick Wright, Kyle Vince and Alec Dekoning.
Picking up helpers were Morgan Halcovitch with 3,
Brock Perry and Ethan Dupont with 2 apiece and a
single to Dekoning. Anthony Hurtubise put in a hard
nights work to help secure the victory.
The following day the players travelled to Windsor
to battle the Jr Spitfires and after a half-hearted
performance were able to come away with a single
point. Scoring in the contest was provided by
Dekoning and Ryan Greenaway with singles. Hurtubise
was very solid in this outing to help secure the tie
for the Lambton squad.
The third game of the weekend was played back at
home at the RBC centre against the Sun County
Panthers. The Panthers seemed much hungrier and were
able to battle the Jr Sting to another draw.
Highlighting the scoresheet in this game was Jarret
Marks who tallied the hatrick for the local squad.
Jake Wilkins had the start in net and made some
great saves to give Lambton a chance.
