The Jr.
Sting were in Windsor on Friday night to battle the
Jr. Spitfire.
Lambton controlled the play throughout period one
using a strong forecheck and some good D pinches to
hem Windsor in their own zone. The Jr. Sting were
not able to capitalize on their chances but didn’t
give Windsor anything, only giving up two shots.
Windsor was able to score the first goal of the game
scoring on the power play early in the second period
and they were able to increase the lead to 2-0
scoring again on the power play.
Lambton’s Jared Pageau continued his strong
offensive play scoring to make it 2-1 going top
shelf on a wrister on the power play.
Conner Royer potted one only thirty seconds later to
make it 2-2 and Jack Hackett gave the Jr. Sting the
lead with just over five minutes to play in the
second when he tipped in a shot from Daniel
Wellington.
The Jr. Sting continued to apply the pressure as the
second ended with Lambton leading 3-2.
The third period saw a number of good chances for
both squads but no scoring as Lambton was able to
hang onto a 3-2 win over a much improved Jr.
Spitfire team.
Jared Pageau, Conner Royer and Jack Hackett each had
a goal.
Max Steeves, Cade Robbins and Daniel Wellington had
assists.
Ethan Williams was solid in between the pipes
