sarniasports December 1, 2011

The Sarnia Jr Sting Minor Midgets MD played back to back games this week.  In their first game on Monday they hosted the Oakridge Aeros and won with a final score of 11 -  1.  The Minor Midgets scored 3 in the first, 6 in the second and 2 in the third.
The Aeros lone goal was scored with 3 minutes left in the game to break Jesse Duguay shutout bid.

Top goal scorer in the win was Marcus Dusseault who scored 2 goals in the first and 1 in the second for a hat trick.  Assisting on Dusseault goals were Colton Heal, Konnor Harris, Mitch Hodgins, Christian Kerrigan and Joey Austin who just returned back from an ankle injury.  Konnor Harris scored a pair the first assisted by Joey Austin and the second unassisted.  Colton Healy also scored two the first assisted by Mario Hudson and Mitch Hodgins and the second by Eric Cunningham.  Dylan Wardell was awarded a penalty shot and made good to end the second up 9 goals.  In the third Tristan Buntrock scored assisted by Mario Hudson and the final goal was scored shorthanded and unassisted by Stephan Blysniuk.

The Minor Midgets were back in action the next night when they travelled to London to take on North London.  In a very well disciplined game the two teams ended in a 1 - 1 tie.   After a scoreless first period Sarnia took the lead part way through the second after Mario Hudson made a shot that went off Colton Healey's skate into the net.  Declan Mayo also earned an assist on the goal.

London came back and scored a minute and half later to tie things up.  Despite out playing and out shooting London the Sarnia team could not get the go ahead goal and the score remained the same to the end.

The team is off to the Burlington Bulldogs tournament this upcoming weekend where we they meet up with Oakridge again for a rematch.
