The
Sarnia Lady Sting Bantam BB team played a Home and
Home series with the Stratford Aces on the Dec. 17,
18 weekend.
In
the first game of the series the Sting appeared
ready to play, and carried the play for the first
half of the game. The Stings best chance of scoring
was on a hard shot from the slot by Averey Devereaux,
in which the Stratford Goalie had to make a
difficult blocker save.
The
Sting would continue to Battle with the Aces in the
second half of the game, but were unable to find the
back of the net. Sting Goalie Whitney Simpson made
several saves late in the game to secure the
shutout. The game would end a 0-0 tie.
In
the second game of the series, the Sting traveled to
the home of the Aces in hopes of gathering two
points. The Aces would open the scoring in the first
period and the Sting were never able to recover and
lost 1 – 0.
The
Lady Sting resumes action on Dec. 29 vs. London.
