Blackhawks Come
From Behind Win
DECEMBER
18, 2011
The Point Edward
Tyke Blackhawks hosted the East Lambton Eagles
Saturday before a packed Point Edward Memorial
Arena Crowd! With the home team coming off back
to back win the weekend before the crowd was not
expecting its home team to fall behind on the
scoreboard early and often.
The Eagles would
open the scoring early in the game and a
powerful offence was difficult for the Hawks to
manage throughout most of the game. With the
Eagles leading the contest 5 - 3 late in the
game the Blackhawks would turn to their goalie
for some much need inspiration as Thomas Guthrie
needed to make multiple saves to keep the Hawks
close.
To start the late
game rally Zach MacDonald netted his first
career goal and the Hawks would continue to pour
on the offence hemming the East Lambton visitors
in their own end for much of the games final ten
minutes! With minutes to play in the game
"Performance Player" Cameron McCarthy would
energize the crowd with 4 straight goals to seal
the 8 - 6 victory!
Other Blackhawks finding their way on to
the score sheet include Dylan Sutherland with 2
goals and Alex Simpson who went "top shelf" mid
way though the game drawing a few oohs and ahhs
from the crowd! As always the coaching staff was
incredible pleased with the teamwork and
attitude of it's players.
The Point Edward
Tyke Blackhawks now have a lengthy Christmas
break before heading out on the road for 5
straight road games. Their next game will be in
January to play rival Strathroy Blue at the
Gemini Arena on Saturday, January 8th at 3pm.
