The
Lambton Junior Sting Minor PeeWee
AAA played only once over the last
weekend beating the Windsor Jr.
Spitfires by a 2 – 1 margin in yet
another low scoring, tight checking
game.
The Sting would
be on their heels during the first
period as the Spitfires would
generate the better scoring
chances. Windsor would be rewarded
for their hard work with the only
goal of the first period to take a 1
– 0 lead into the 2nd
period.
In the second period Cameron Adam
would find Josh Vale open in close
and Josh buried his shot to tie the
game at 1 heading into the 3rd
period.
The Sting would push hard in the 3rd
period looking to take the lead with
the Spitfires giving up several 2 on
1 opportunities, but Lambton would
fail to convert. With only about 3
minutes left in the game, the Sting
would break out of their own end and
catch the Spitfires on an odd man
rush and Cameron Adam would bury the
game winning goal. Assisting on the
play were Josh Vale and Tristan
Haagsma. Jacob Knowles would put in
another solid effort in goal to pick
up the win.
