Pairs skaters Michael Marinaro and Margaret Purdy
have been chosen to represent Canada at the Volv o
Cup Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating.
The Volvo
Cup will be held in Riga, Latvia. The pairs team
will be there from August 29th until September 5.
Nineteen year old Michael, member of the Point
Edward Skating Club, and sixteen year old Margaret,
member of the Watford Skating Club, have been busy
training 25 hours per week to prepare for the
upcoming season.
The pair
trains at The Competitive Skating Centre of
Strathroy with coaches Scott Rachuk and Alison
Purkiss. Michael and Margaret's short program music
is Harlem Nocturne and their free skate program is
to the music of Queen (Adagio).
They will
be competing against 11 other teams from around the
world.
