Forest, ON -
The Lambton Shores Predators were shut out in their
first preseason game of the season, 5-0 against
London, despite holding the Nationals to just two
goals through the first two periods of play.
It may be
another loss for the Predators, who lost 46 games
last season, but new Head Coach Mark Davis sees it
differently for his young team.
"It was
nice to see our players not giving up," said Davis,
who was not behind the bench last night, but was
impressed by the teams performance. "This gives a
lot of our young guys a taste of what junior B
hockey is all about."
London is
arguably one of the top teams in the league, and
with a core of younger players and a new Head Coach,
a 5-0 loss, while only giving up two in the first
two periods, leads Davis to believe a bright future
is ahead for Lambton Shores.
"Just
watching, I was impressed," said Davis. "It's going
to take some time for our guys to get use to me and
the way I coach but we will be one of the hardest
working teams and hope Lambton Shore fans keep
coming to watch good hockey."
The
Predators will practice over the next two days
before taking on St. Mary's in a d home and home on
the weekend. Lambton Shores opens their season on
Saturday, September 10th at home against LaSalle.
