The Sarnia Fury Black recently captured the Gold
medal in the U9 Division at the Kitchener
Invitational Soccer Tournament. The team went
undefeated in the tournament with a record of 4 - 0
- 1.
Their division was tough competition facing the
likes of: Cambridge United, Markham Lightening,
Kitchener Spirit and Fergus United. The boys played
extremely well and outscored their opponents 19 - 5.
Defense performed exceptionally well on Sunday as
they only allowed one goal in three games. The team
beat Cambridge United in the finals by a score of 5
- 0. Goal scorers in the championship game were:
Carter Barron (2), Kyle Flamminio, Ryan Janssens,
and Mateo Troiani. All coaches and parents were
'very' proud of the boy's effort and determination.
The Black Fury have entered 4 tournaments this
summer winning 2 and finishing finalists in another.
