The Sarnia Jr. Lady Sting
Bantam B Hockey Team won the
2016 Woodstock Wildcats
Hockey Tournament this past
weekend with a record of 5
wins and 0 losses.
In Pool Play the Lady Sting
defeated the Ancaster
Avalanche 3-0, Saugeen
Shores Storm 3-0, Wilmot
Wolverines 5-2 and St.
Thomas Panthers 3-0.
In the Championship Game,
the Lady Sting were matched
up against the Saugeen
Shores Storm and played
fantastic, carrying the
majority of the play,
outshooting them 20-8 and
hitting the crossbar and a
post.
After regulation time and
after a 5 minute Sudden
Death Overtime the score
remained 0-0. In dramatic
fashion and with edge of
your seat tension, the only
player to score for either
team in the 3 player
shootout was Alexandra
Rizkallah to seal the Gold
Medal for the Lady Sting.
