#23 Ben Morrison scores two
goals in Friday night win
The Mooretown Flags battled back
this week after being down 2
games in the first round of the
playoffs with a 5 - 3 win on
Wednesday and in Lakeshore on
Friday night evened the series
after taking a 4 - 2 win over
the Canadiens.
Logan Percy opened the scoring
for the Canadiens at 1:24 in the
first. Joe DeSena evened
the score at 6:42 with Matt
Brandon and Ryan Lyle assisting.
The Flags took the lead at 12:15
when Ben Morrison scored on a
power play assisted by Nolan
Riley and Dawson Vautour.
In the second Morrison earned
his second goal and eventual
game winner unassisted at 2:52.
Mejoe Gasparovic narrowed the
gap at 17:37 and the period
ended with the Flags leading 3 -
2.
Early in the third period Landon
Wilson regain the two point lead
for the Flags assisted by Dawson
Vautour and the Flags denied the
Canadiens and took the win.
Lakeshore took a couple of major
penalties and saw players being
tossed for Charging the
Goaltender and Abuse of
Officials.
On the power play Mooretown
scored once on four
opportunities and Lakeshore
scored one on five.
The Canadiens outshot the Flags
33 - 25. Brandon Johnson
earned the win in net made 31
saves, Colin Tetreault took the
loss with 21 saves.
The two teams are back in action
for game five in Mooretown
tonight (Saturday Feb 13).
