
The Mooretown Flags bounced back
after being down 2 games in the
first round of the Great Lakes
Jr. C playoff series with a 5 -
3 win over the Lakeshore
Canadiens Wednesday night in
Mooretown.
In the first period both sides
shared power play goals with
Alec Segers scoring for the
Flags at 5:32 and
Canadiens Steven Sartor at
11:11.
In the second Matt Brandon gave
the Flags the lead at 8:57 and
at 11:09 Ryan Lyle scored on the
power play. Lakeshore
added their second goal at 13:35
and the period would end with
the Flags leading 3 - 2.
At the 9:00 minute mark Jakob
Reeves unassisted goal gave the
Flags a two point lead followed
by Ryan Lyle second goal of the
night at 14:54. At 17:50
Majoe Gasparovic put one in the
pocket for Lakeshore but as the
time ran out Mooretown held on
for the win.
Lakeshore outshot the Flags 47 -
41. Brandon Johnson earned
the win making 44 saves, Colin
Tetreault took the loos made 36.
In power play opportunities
Mooretown went two for six and
Lakeshore went one for seven.
Lakeshore leads the best of
seven series 2 - 1. Game four
will be played Friday night (Feb
12) in Lakeshore at the
Atlas Centre with a puck drop at
7:05 pm then the two teams
return back to Mooretown on
Saturday at 7:30 pm.
