The
Ontario Youth Tenpin Singles
Tournament was held on March 19
& 20 at Bowlerama Royale in
London, Ontario with 239 youth
bowlers in different divisions
trying to win scholarship money
for future education. Fifty-six
LCTA (Lambton County Tenpin
Association) bowlers from Hi-Way
Bowl And Marcin Bowl
participated in the tournament
competition trying to win some
of the $5550.00 scholarship
money up for grabs. Six LCTA
bowlers claimed $925.00 of the
available money.
The
tournament was made up of two
divisions – Boys and Girls 11 &
Under Handicap bowling four
games and Boys and Girls 12 &
Over in Handicap and Scratch
divisions bowling five games.
Joey
Windover from Marcin Bowl,
tasted victory in the Boys 12
and Over Handicap Division as he
defeated 58 combatants to earn
$250.00 in scholarship money. He
entered the competition with a
106 average, tossing a five game
scratch total of 765 averaging
153. With his handicap he had
1237 to clinch first place.

Denver
Taylor from Hi-Way Bowl,
participated in the Boys 12 and
Over Handicap Division entering
with a 129 average. His five
game scratch total was 820
averaging 164. With his handicap
he finished at 1177, good for 3rd
place and $200.00 scholarship
funds.
Patrick
Cullis from Marcin Bowl, was a
competitor in the Boys 12 and
Over Handicap Division entering
with 127 average. His five game
scratch total was 760 averaging
152. With his handicap he
finished at 1126, good for 6th
place and $125.00 scholarship
money.
McKenna
Scott from Marcin Bowl, competed
against 49 bowlers in the Girls
12 and Over Handicap Division
entering with an average of 80.
Her five game scratch total was
510 averaging 102. With her
handicap she finished at 1111
(80 pins out of first place)
good for 4th place
and $125.00 scholarship money.
Jordan
Brooks-McKinlay from Marcin
Bowl, bowled against 47
opponents in the Boys 11 and
Under Scratch Division entering
with an average of 52. His four
game total was 288 averaging 72.
He was 23 pins short of victory
ending in 4th place
which was good for $175.00
scholarship funds.
Congratulations to the above
mentioned bowlers and also to
the 51 other LCTA participants
and the other provincial youth
bowlers who gave a noble effort
on the lanes.
