SARNIA, ON - Sarnia
Sting General
Manager, Nick
Sinclair is pleased
to announce that 2nd
round pick, Ryan
McGregor has agreed
to terms on a
Standard Player
Agreement and
Education Package
with the Hockey
Club.
Selected 24th
overall in the 2015
OHL Priority
Selection, McGregor
is a highly skilled
forward who
possesses an inept
hockey sense and the
tools which will
greatly assist in
his development as a
player in the
Ontario Hockey
League. Last year,
McGregor recorded 17
goals and 20 assists
for a total of 37
points in 32 games
with the Burlington
Eagles Minor Midget
AAA team.
The 16-year-old
centreman also
represented Team
OHMA Navy in the
2015 OHL Gold Cup,
helping his team to
a bronze medal
finish. More
recently, McGregor
took part in Hockey
Canada’s U17
Development camp in
Calgary last month.
General Manager,
Nick Sinclair
comments on the
Sting’s most recent
signing, “We’re very
pleased to announce
that Ryan has agreed
to terms on a
Standard Player
Agreement and
Education Package
with the Hockey
Club. As a group,
we’re excited to
welcome the McGregor
family to the Sting
organization, and
look forward to
assisting in Ryan’s
development both on
the ice and in the
classroom. Heading
into the draft, Ryan
was a player who was
highly rated by our
scouting staff.
After a strong
showing at Training
Camp, we are
confident that Ryan
possesses the tools
necessary to develop
into a strong player
in the Ontario
Hockey League.”
