The 33rd Smith
Funeral Home Open Pairs Tournament wrapped up the competitive season at the
Sarnia Lawn Bowling Club on Labour Day Monday.
There were 19 teams (38
bowlers) who persevered through a hot day, with host club bowlers Ed and
Edna Braithwaite coming out the winners. Second place went to Jim Foley and
Bob McQueen of Sarnia, while third was won by Gord and Amanda McKay of
Sarnia.
It was the final tournament
on this year’s schedule for the Sarnia club, but Sarnia is hosting the
Provincial Novice Pairs Championship Sept. 11-13 with two local teams hoping
to earn provincial honours.
