Compete at Ontario
Novice Pairs Lawn
Bowling
Championships in
Sarnia.
Bowlers from across
Ontario will be
competing for the
opportunity of being
crowned the Ontario
Novice Pairs Lawn
Bowling Champions at
the Sarnia Lawn
Bowling Club this
coming weekend.
16 Men’s and 16
Women’s teams
from across
Ontario (64
bowlers) will
meet in Sarnia
for two days of
competition in a
sport which
requires the
perfect
combination of
accuracy and
strategy. Novice
bowlers are
those who have
bowled for less
than five years.
The
event will be held
at the Sarnia Lawn
Bowling Club in
Germain Park (off
Bright Street) the
weekend of Sept.
11-13.
A practice day and opening reception sponsored by
Fairwinds Lodge will
take place on Sept.
11 with games taking
place throughout the
day on Sept. 12 and
13. Spectators are
welcome at no
charge.
Sarnia will have
two teams
representing
District 2 at
the provincials.
Grant Collison
and Jay Hill
will compete in
the men’s event,
while Mary
Winter and Gwen
Klatt seek the
ladies’ title.

Club has been
hosting bowlers from
across Canada for
over 100 years and
we are honoured to
be hosting the
Ontario Novice Pairs
Lawn Bowling
Championships this
year. The greens are
in prime condition
and our host
committee is
extremely excited
and ready to welcome
the bowlers,” said
Dave Moffitt,
president of the
Sarnia Lawn Bowling
Club.
