
The
Mooretown Flags increased their record to 5 - 2 after defeating the Dresden
Kings 6 - 3 Saturday night at home in Great Lakes Jr. C Hockey League
action.
Brent Blais earned the first star of the
night after earning 3 point scoring 2 goals and an assist for the Flags.
Blais scored unassisted to opened the scoring at 5:43 in the first.
Dresden on the power play evened things up at 12:13 with Derek Daly scoring.
The two teams would end the period tied at 1 each.
Second period saw the Flags scored two goals
the first at the 2:00 minute mark by Joe DeSena shorthanded with Brandon
Johnson picking up the assist. Parker Gilhuly from Blais and Colton
Osborne added the second at 5:34.
Third period action saw the Flags take a 5 -
1 lead after Jakob Reeves from DeSena scored at 2:18 and Mike Kindrachuk
scored on the power play at 7:55 with Landon Wilson and Reeves assisting.
Dresden Taylor Sisson would add the Kings second goal half way into the
period then Blais would score his second unassisted goal of the night for
the Flags at 15:21. The Final goal was scored at 17:33 by the Kings by
Taylor Sisson.
Brandon Johnson was outstanding in net and
named second star of the night after making 44 saves in the game.
Johnson is now 5 - 1 for the season.
Mooretown and Dresden each scored once on the
power play. The Flags had four opportunities and Dresden five.
Mooretown is back in action next weekend when
they host the Blenheim Blades (4-2-1) on Saturday October 10 at 7:30 pm.
