Dominated Over the Greyhounds

After a comeback falling just short Thursday night against the
Kitchener Rangers, the Sarnia
Sting travelled to Sault Ste.
Marie Friday night finishing
with a dominating 7-2 victory
against the Greyhounds in OHL
league action.
Nikita Korostelev recorded his 100th career OHL point with the
second goal of the game, and
added on 2 assists giving him a
3 point night. Jakob Chychrun
chipped in with a 3 point night
of his own with 2 goals and 1
assist.
It was a very offensive night for the Sting, forcing the Greyhounds
to make mistakes in their
defensive zone creating scoring
chances and capitalizing on the
opportunities. The Sting scored
3 goals in the first period with
the second and third goals
coming just 21 seconds apart.
The Greyhounds scored 2 goals in
the second period to make the
game interesting, but that did
not stop the Sting who scored 4
unanswered goals in the period.
The Sting outshot the Greyhounds for a majority of the game for a
game total of 31 while the
Greyhounds finished with a total
of 23.
Justin Fazio stood tall making 21 saves on 23 shots, while the
Greyhounds Joseph Raaymakers
made 24 saves on 31 shots.
Jakob Chychrun was selected as the first star, while Nikita
Korostelev skated away with the
second star of the game.
With the win tonight, the Sting go up 2-0 on the Greyhounds in the
season series. The two
teams will meet 4 more times
throughout the season.
So far this season the Sting are 3-1-1 on the road and look to
increase there record next
weekend with two road games
schedule against Niagara and
Erie. Total points so far
in the early season is 17 with a
record of 8-3-1.
The Sting will return home
November 6th to take on the
border rival, Flint Firebirds at
