Mooretown Flags Took Solid Win Over Dresden

The Mooretown Flags were in Dresden Friday night and took a solid 6 - 1 win against the Kings in Great Lakes Jr. C hockey league action.

 

The Flags scored two goals in the first, a single in the second and three more in the third. 

 

Scoring for the Flags were Christian Lyle, Ben Morrison, Parker Gilhuly, Kyle Smith, Trevor Bogaert and Matt Brandon.  Alec Segers and Joe DeSena each earned 2 points with 2 assists. Gilhuly also earned 2 points adding an assist to his single goal and Cameron Rannie picked up a point with an assist.

 

Dresden lone goal came in the second with Macks Holmes scoring.

 

Brandon Johnson earned his sixth win of the season in net turning away 31 shots.  Former Lambton AAA netminder Travis Moore made 44 saves in the loss.

 

Both sides were scoreless on the power play.  Mooretown had six opportunities, Dresden had seven.


The Flags look to increase their 6 - 4 record when they continue their road game weekend on Sunday in Amherstburg against the Admirals. (8-1-2).
