Bowling Scores for Week ending Oct 10    

Creasor, Pelkie, Chopp And Wilson Toss 300’s

            Marcin Bowl gave up some significant scores in Lambton County Tenpin Association (LCTA) bowling action this past week which highlighted a new city bowling record and four perfect games. Jim Creasor, Jim Lapointe, Dawn Pelkie, Dan Chopp and Butch Wilson rolled terrific scores beating up on the pins in different leagues.

           Jim Creasor rolled 876 (297-279-300 – 237 pins over average for three games) in the Marcin Bluewater Monday Night Men’s League to establish a LCTA new city record which was previously held by Chad Zonneville 853 (278-298-277). It was his career 17th 800 plus series and his 21st perfect game. He displayed this tremendous achievement on lanes 21 & 22 tossing 34 out of a possible 36 strikes.   

 

Jim Lapointe Dawn Pelkie Dan Chopp

Lapointe tossed 766 (224-279-263) in the Marcin Thursday Night Men’s League to record the second high triple of the week.     

           Pelkie wheeled 755 (231-300 –  139  pins over average  224 - 272   pins over average for three games)  in the Marcin Tuesday Night Ladies League on lanes 25 & 26 to record the ladies high triple and share the high single of the week. It was her first sanctioned perfect game.    

           Chopp shared the high single as he fired his career 6th perfect game in the Marcin Thursday Night Border City Men’s League. He accomplished his gem in his last game of the night on lanes 21 & 22 ending the night with 704.

Wilson also shared the week’s high single as he bowled his career 3rd perfect game (107 pins over average) in the Marcin Sunday Morning Men’s League.  He performed the feat in his first game on lanes 17 & 18. The week’s four perfect games bring the total up to six for this early LCTA bowling season.

       Marcin Bowl Shoot Out One took place on Tuesday Oct. 6th with   seventeen participants taking part on the sport shot oil pattern Dead Man Curve. The top eight bowlers to qualify for match play competition were Jim Lapointe 738 (214-245-279), Brad Cook 736 (239-279-218), Jim Creasor 706 (218-233-255), Roy Mezzatesta 698 (247-245), George Reid 693 (266-235), Paul Mezzatesta 653 (222-248), Billy Best 653 (226-219) and Glenn Crowe 652 (241-214). Sitting on the bubble was Jordan Croskery with 642 (222-225). Other 210 plus games were Dennis Ramsay 233, Jeff Raymond 224-212, Ben Lapointe 223, Kyle Adamson 215 and Melissa Crowe 213. Roy Mezzatesta defeated Jim Lapointe 233-228 to win the tournament. Marcin Bowl Shoot Out Two will take place on Tuesday Nov. 3rd at 6:30.     

        George Reid fired 747 (277-247) in Marcin Sunday Morning Men’s League competition. He was followed by Louie Willemsen 705 (247-232), Bill Croskery 695 (246), Justin Romanik 671 (237), Brandon Gauthier 671 (256-231), Brad Cook 641, Jamie Ridealgh 638 (248), Ralph MacDuff 633 (242), Butch Wilson 632, Kevin Schofield 631, Steve Peters 267, Kevin Lyon 242, Doug Black 235, Alexa Matena 233 and Joe Serratore 231. Team standings are Marcin Bowl Pro Shop 24, Micor Sports 19, Courtright Variety 17, Jacobs Industrial Services 17, Alliance Fab 14, Team Outfitters 13, J & K Construction 13, Crossroad – CL 12, Mike’s Hair Styling 11, The Leaky Tank 11 and Cargill 5.

         Corey Willemsen recorded 738 (289-234) in Marcin Bluewater Monday Night Men’s League rivalry. He was pursued by Steve Lewicki 736 (298 – 93 pins over average), Pete Dufault 727 (267-247), Brian Watson 722 (257-236), Rob Plamondon 715 (238-252 – 154 pins over average for three games),Roy Mezzatesta 711 (258-242), Dennis Ramsay 709 (237-255), Mike Shephard 707 (279), Jeff Raymond 691 (234-237), Bob Spence 678 (233-255), Terry Spence 676 (279), Jim Burgess 667 (234), Doug Brooks 658 (258-241), Pat Lacasse 654 (253), Tim Greene 243 – 94 pins over average,  Mike Marciniszyn 238, Mel Matthews 238, Glenn Crowe 235, Mark Colbran 234 and George Reid 233.         In Airey Lanes Thursday Ladies Happy Hour League play, leading scores were Ada Brown 497 (201), Diane Ross 435, Bev Rankin 425 (175) and Karen Corr 181. Team standings are Elephant 26, Monkey 26, Mouse 26, Lion 16, Seal 14 and Crocodile 12.

         In Airey Lanes Sunday Night Mixed League action, the women’s best scores were Michelle Fraser 482 (178), Stephanie Chambers 480 (174), Mary Bradburn 453 and Bev Rankin 174. The men’s main scores were Terry Bradburn 451, Ken McLeod 437 (168), Arni Bildfell 434 (168) and Tom Taylor 164. Team standings are Praying Mantis 20, The Beer Bugz 18, Fireflies 18, Fire Ants 16, Bowel Weevils 16 and Beatles 8.

          In Marcin 1046 Mixed League activity, the men’s best scores were Joe Borody 534 (215), Steve Brander 520 (190) and David Hearn 505. The ladies’ were led by Kaye Brander 473 and Karen Lupi 468 (190).          In Marcin Sarnia Reserve Mixed League fun, the men’s top scores were Terry Mundy 610, Richard Murphy 587 (267 – 103 pins over average), Greg Gray 582 (223), Allan Little 558 (231 – 91 pins over average), Bill Smith 207 and Angie Delassandro 195. The women’s upper scores were Jo Ellen Beveridge 590 (208-205), Marnie McQueen 529 (196), Annette George 489 (187), Eileen Cochrane 463 (223 – 83 pins over average) and Aimee Gauthier 197.

       In Marcin Friday Night Mixed League play, the ladies’ best scores were Annette Urban 531 (213), Bonnie VanGrimberghe 451 and Mary Hearns 441. The men’s main scores were Dave Urban 585 (211), John Somers 568 (193-193), Ray Lucas 555 (226) and Paul Heckley 555 (215). Team standings are Split Ends 21, Striking Power 17, Gutterbusters 15, Splitters 14, Pin Tricks 13 and Wicked Pins 10.

       In Marcin Sunday Morning Ladies League action, leading scores were Michelle Fraser 511 (188-191), Roxanne English 450 (179), Shirley Stark 446 (172) and Sandra Paluch 433.
