Pavel Zacha
had a huge
night as he
continues to
shine since
his return
from the New
Jersey
Devils
training
camp. Zacha,
scored three
times while
adding two
assists for
a five point
night -
leading the
Sarnia Sting
to a 6-2 win
over the
Niagara
IceDogs, in
front of
2,596 at the
Sarnia
Sports and
Entertainment
Centre.
Jeff King,
continued
his torrid
scoring with
a goal and
two assists.
Patrick
White had a
two point
night that
included a
goal and
Nikita
Korostelev
added a
single
tally. Jakob
Chychrun had
a pair of
assists for
the Sting as
well.
Justin
Fazio,
playing in
his second
game in as
many nights
saw his
shut-out
streak end
at 179:05,
but was
solid once
again,
stopping 32
of 34 shots,
for his 12th
win of the
season.
Johnny
Corneil and
Anthony
DiFruscia
scored for
the IceDogs.
Niagara
carried the
play for
much of the
first
period, out
shooting
Sarnia 13-9,
but the
Sting
grabbed the
lead with a
pair of
goals in
less than
four minutes
for a 2-0
lead.
Pavel Zacha,
notched his
team leading
10th goal to
open the
scoring at
7:47, with
the Sting on
the power
play. Jakob
Chychrun and
Jeff King
drew the
assists.
Zacha let go
a hard shot
from the
slot that
beat Dhillon,
top shelf.
Sarnia
increased
the lead by
a pair at
11:33 of
period one.
King
continued
his hot
scoring with
his third
goal in
his last six
games, to go
along with
two assists
in as many
games. King
was trying
to pass the
puck off to
a teammate
when the
puck hit an
IceDogs'
player in
front and
deflected
past Dhillon.
Jordan Kyrou
had the lone
assist.
The IceDogs
finally beat
Fazio late
in the
opening
frame to end
his shut-out
streak.
Johnny
Corneil
scored his
sixth goal
with the
assists
going to
Josh Ho-Sang
and Aaron
Haydon.
After
scoring a
power play
goal in the
opening
frame Zacha
scored his
second of
the game and
11th of the
season with
the Sting
shorthanded,
at the
mid-way
point of the
second
period, to
re-instate
Sarnia’s two
goal lead.
After a few
minutes of
review, it
was called a
good goal.
It was the
only goal of
the middle
frame and
the Sting,
who were
out-shot
11-9 for a
second
straight
period, lead
after twenty
minutes 3-1.
Fazio was
outstanding
in the
period with
several big
saves to
keep the
lead intact.
The period
ended with a
number of
players
pushing and
shoving at
centre ice.
Patrick
White scored
his fifth of
the season
and Zacha
completed
his hat
trick to
round out
the Sarnia
scoring.
Korostelev scored the
6th of the

18:25.
DiFruscia,
scored on
