
The Mooretown Flags Jr. C Hockey team saw action in Alvinston on
Tuesday night and came away with a 4 - 1 win over the Flyers.
In the first period the Flags took a 2 - 1 lead with Ryan Lyle from
Cameron Rannie and Joe DeSena scoring the first goal at 4:10 and
Dawson Vautour scoring on a power play with Rannie and Lyle
assisting at 11:44. Less than a minute later the Flyers scored
what turned out to be their only goal of the game by Karsten Berg.
In the opening minute of the second
period the team leading point getter Joe DeSena with 8 goals and 10
assist scored with just :12 seconds off the clock. Lyle and
Rannie picked up their 3rd point of the game assisting on the goal.
Matt Brandon added the 4th goal on the power play at 2:09 with Mike
Kindrachuck and Alec Segers assisting and the score would remain the
same until the final buzzer.
Mooretown was credited with 40 shots on
goal, Alvinston 28. Brandon Johnson earned the win making 27
saves. Matt Boere took the loss with 36 saves.
Mooretown scored twice on five power
play opportunities. Alvinston was scoreless on three
opportunities.
The Flags remain in 4th spot with a
record of 10-7. On Saturday November 14th the Flags will host
the league leaders Essex 73's (17-2)
at the Moore Sports Complex at 7:30 pm.
