baseball team took a double
header away from the
Tecumseh Rangers Major
Bantams Sunday Afternoon at
Fergie Jenkins Field in
Chatham to improve to 3-2 on
the season.
The Wolverines won 4-0 game
1 as Greg Hay and Kyle
Blunt combined for a no
hitter. Hay picked up the
win lasting 5 innings
walking one and striking out
2 while Blunt came in for
the save going 2 innings and
striking out 2.
Grant Spence lead the
Wolverine offence with 2
singles and 2 runs scored
while Hay add 2 singles ,
Joel Pavey had 1 single and
Jake Taylor had an RBI
double.
In Game 2 Western Counties
outlasted Tecumseh after 5
lead changes squeaking out a
4-3 win. Dillon Timperly was
the hero for the Wolverines
with the go ahead single in
the bottom of the sixth
scoring Evan Rogers. Other
Wolverines contributing to
the attack were Jake
Taylor, Evan Rogers, Joel Pavey,
Grant Spence and Jacob
Breault. Joel Pavey started
game 2 going 3 innings
giving up 2 hits then was
relieved by Brett Allardyce
throwing 2 innings and Evan
Rogers came in to pick up
the win pitching the sixth
and seventh innings.
The Wolverines will be on
the road next Saturday May
23rd in Windsor
to take on the Windsor Star
minor Bantams at Central
park.
