The Sarnia Lady
Sting Peewee B team
won the Lower Lakes
Female Hockey League
(LLFHL) tournament
of Champions this
past weekend in
Oshawa.
Out of 40 teams in
the league, 4 teams
won playoffs to earn
the right to play in
this elite
tournament. The
Sarnia Girls team is
the first team in
Sarnia to bring home
gold at this
tournament.
In the first game
the Sarnia Ladies
were edged out 1 - 0
by the Kincardine
Kinucks then went on
and shut out the
Orillia Hawks 2 - 0
and Haldimand
Rivercats 1 - 0.
In the regular round
Sarnia placed second
that earned them a
spot in the Gold
Medal game where
they met the
Kincardine Kinucks
for a rematch and
came out on top
shutting them out 2
- 0 for the
Championship title.
