Sarnia Lady Sting Midget AA Win League Division Title

The Sarnia Lady Sting Midget AA team completed a successful league playoff run by defeating the London Devilettes, 1-0 on Saturday to sweep the best of 3 final in 2 games. They defeated London 4-1 in Game 1 prior to March Break. On the way to the final and despite their injury depleted lineup, Sarnia also swept Chatham in two games and defeated the top seeded Saugeen Lightning in 3 games.

With the victory, the team has earned a berth in the Lower Lakes Female Hockey League Final Four Champions Tournament this coming weekend (March 28-29) in Oshawa. The tournament will feature the four regional Midget AA champions; Sarnia, Toronto, Oakville and Aurora, from the 46 league teams across Southern and Central Ontario.

Team members are: Naomi Dubs, Emma McCormick, Leslie Brandon, Selena Dirven, Meghan Blythe, Jordyn Butler, Claire Vanden Eynde, Aynsley Harrison, Kristin Parkes, Julia Lupton, Marissa Swan, Katie Barwitzki, Madison Findlater, Nicole Rogers and Jocelyn Eves. The team’s Head Coach is Doug Eves.
