On Friday at the Sarnia
Arena the Lambton Jr. Sting
Major Midget AAA took a 5 -
3 point lead after edging
the London Jr. Knights 4 - 3
in game four of the best of
seven in Alliance Hockey semi
final pladown round.
Heading into
Fridays' game the two teams
were tied with 3 points each
with both teams sharing a
win and a tie.
The Jr. Knights scored the
first goal and only power
play goal in the game at
5:33 by Brandon Glover in
the first and Ethan Nother
scored at 9:13 to give the
Jr. Knights the 2 - 0 lead
heading into the second.
Brock Perry got the Jr.
Sting on board at 1:16 into
the second period with
Jarret Marks earning the
assist. Alec Dekoning
tied the scored at 16:29
with help by Perry and
Collin Osler and Dillon
Saunders from Marco Mini and
Tim Kaldeway scored less
than a minute later to give
the Jr. Sting the 3-2 lead
heading into the third
period.
London would squash the lead
when Brandon Glover scored
unassisted :22 seconds into
the period but at 10:16
Jarret Marks scored what
turned out to the game
winner assisted by Brock
Perry and Dawson Vautour.
Shayne Battler earned the
win for the Jr. Sting with
31 saves. Zach Weir
also made 31 saves for the
Jr. Knights.
London scored the only power
play goal Lambton took 10
minutes in penalties on 5
infractions, London received
34 minutes on 5 that
included a game misconduct
and a two game suspension.
Lambton looks to finish the
series today with a win in
London at Medway arena, game
time 7:30 pm.
