
The Sarnia Midget A
team was the only
local team that went
to the finals at the
Sarnia Boys Silver
Stick Champions held
in Sarnia over the
weekend.

In the tournament
the Jr. Sting went
3-1-0 leading
up to the final game
where they were
edged out by the
Toronto Avalanche 4
- 3.
In their first game
the Jr. Sting
defeated the Root
River Rangers
5 - 2. In the
second the St. Marys
Rock won 3 - 1.
In the third game
they took a solid 4
- 0 shut out win and
in the semi-final at
7:00 am on Sunday
morning they went up
against St. Marys
for the second time
and came took a
2 - 1 win to earn a
spot in the final.

In the final Sarnia
took a 3 - 2 lead in
the first period.
Sarnia scored first
after Logan Scott
scored an unassisted
goal from the corner
that banked off the
goalie.
Toronto answered
back on a power play
goal by Robert
Palmeri unassisted.
Scott scored his
second of the game
to give the Jr.
Sting the 2 -
1 lead with Devin
Butler and Ryan
Walker earning the
assists.
Toronto battled back
and knotted the game
two minutes later
with Nicholas
Quaglietta scoring
assisted by Marc
Anthony Francella.
With 1:11 remaining
in the first Jack
Johnston banged the
final Jr. Sting goal
with Scott earning
his third point in
the game with the
assist.

Toronto went on and
scored two goals in
the second period
the first by
Francella and the
game winner by Marc
Anthony Borges.
