
The Petrolia Squires
edged out the Huron
East Centenaires by
a score of 5 - 4 in
WOSAA AA Senior
Hockey action at
home Friday night.
Brad Burton opened
the scoring with a
goal just 34 seconds
into the opening
period. Kraig Wright
scored less than two
minutes later take
the two goal lead.
Before the period
was over the
Centenaires answered
back and tied things
up with Kyle Walker
and Scott Henderson
scoring.
In the second the
Centenaires scored
early to take the
lead for the first
time by Steve
Henderson.
Squires James Edgar
came back and scored
for the tie at 14:31
and 1:26 later Jesse
Drydak regained the
lead for the Squires
heading into the
third with a score
of 4-3.
The game continued
it's see saw pace as
the Centenaires came
back and tied in the
third on a goal by
Jacob Pilskow at
5:12. with
3:08 left in the
game Tom Moxley
regained the lead
and the Squires held
on to take the win.
Matthew Slotwinski
earning the win in
net for the Squires
made 15 saves on 19
shots. Tyler
Koot suffered the
loss making 49 saves
on 54 shots.
The Squires return
to action on Sunday
when they travel to
Seaforth for a
rematch of Friday's
game against the
Huron East
Centenaires.
