FEBRUARY 22, 2015

Lambton Jr. Sting and Brantford 99ers were 1 - 1  heading into the third game of the Alliance League playoff round on Saturday.

Despite having a short bench with just 12 skaters the Minor Midgets came out on top taking a 3 - 1 win over the 99ers

Action went back and forth for the first two periods before Lambton scored the first goal at 1:29 in the third period by Conner Royer assisted by Cameron Rannie and Jacob Williams.  Lambton widened their lead at 8:21 with Matt Hunt scoring assisted by Rannie and Royer.  Royer earned his third point of the game scoring his second goal at 9:49 with Hunt assisting.

Brantford denied Jr. Sting netminder Kyle Brinacombe a shutout after Hunter Dubecki got a shot off from the slot with just under 5 minutes to play.

Only one penalty was called in the game with Brantford taking a five minute major giving Lambton the only power play of the game that they were unable to capitalize on.

Lambton leads the best of five series 2 - 1 and the two teams are back in action today in Brantford for game four.  A win will send the team to the semi-final round, a loss the two teams will be back in Sarnia for game five on Monday Feb 23.
