Sarnia
Sting
General
Manager,
Nick
Sinclair
is
pleased
to
announce
that the
team has
signed
Free
Agent,
Troy
Lajeunesse
and 2014
6th
Round
pick,
Shayne
Battler.
As a
rookie
in the
GOJHL
last
season,
Lajeunesse
recorded
16 goals
and 34
points
for the
Waterloo
Siskins.
Lajeunesse
added 10
goals
and 3
assists
in the
playoffs
last
season,
helping
the
Siskins
to the
Sutherland
Cup
final.
The
North
Bay
native
stood
out at
Training
camp as
a Free
Agent
and is
expected
to be a
character
player
for the
Sting in
the
coming
years.
Goaltender,
Shayne
Battler
posted a
12-4
record
with the
Clarington
Toros
last
season,
allowing
only 38
goals in
24 GP.
At 6.03,
Battler
has
tremendous
upside
and will
provide
solid
goaltending
depth
for the
Sting in
years to
come.
Sinclair
comments
on the
two
additions.
“As a
Hockey
Club,
we’re
happy
that
these
two
players
have
committed
to our
program.
Both
Troy and
Shayne
will
boast as
strong
additions
to our
club as
a whole.
We look
forward
to
assisting
these
two
young
men with
their
transition
into
Major
Junior
Hockey
as both
players
and
students.”
