The Steeves and Rosema Shock
Wave defeated the Bill
Dennis Jr. Exit Realty Twin
Bridges Inferno 24-12. The
Shock Wave struck first on a
29 yard run by Tyler Kerby.
The Inferno replied as Dante
Musokotwan dashed 35 yards.
The Shock Wave completed the
scoring in the first half as
Liam Swanson powered into
the end zone from 8 yards
out. The Shock Wave
increased their lead to 12
on their first possession of
the second half when Kerby
stuck again, this time from
the 1. Dante Musokotwan
narrowed the Inferno deficit
to 6 when he again sped 35
yards for a major. Swanson
rounded out the scoring on
an 18 yard run. These 2
teams will again meet in the
semi-final next Saturday.
The Sylvan Learning Centre
Fire Bolts and the Royal
Canadian Legion Branch 62
Iron Hides battled to a
12-12 draw. Tate Levesque
put the Bolts on the board
first with a 12 yard run.
Nathan Cope replied for the
Iron Hides on an impressive
run from the 30 to knot the
score at 6 as the teams
headed to the break. The
Fire Bolts again surged
ahead as Owen Allen bulled
into the end zone from the
one. The Iron Hides did not
give up and were rewarded
when Cope scored his second
touchdown of the game,
breaking many tackles on his
way to the end zone from the
18. The score remained tied
the remainder of the game.
These two evenly matched
teams meet again Wednesday
evening the the quarter
finals.
Bantam
Division
In the first Bantam game the
hard luck Optimist Club of
Sarnia Lakeshore Grizzlies
took on the Mechanical
Contractor's Association
Toros. The Grizzlies struck
first on a 32 yard run by
Avery Smiley and a kicked
convert by Garrett
Patterson. This was the
only scoring in the first
half, as the Grizzlies led
8-0 at the break. The Toros
scored the first 14 points
of the third quarter on a
pass from Cam Havers to
Coleton Phillips, a
touchdown scamper by Brett
Riley and a kicked convert
by Chase Frost to lead
14-8. Jackson Smiley scored
for the Grizzlies as time
was winding down in the
third quarter to tie the
game at 14 heading to the
fourth quarter. In the
final quarter, the Toros
scored 16 straight points on
two majors by Havers and 2
converts by Frost for their
victory.
The Mammoet Crane
Incorporated Mammoths
concluded their regular
season with a 30-0 victory
over the Sarnia Police
Association Tiger Sharks.
Hunter Hendrie and Joel Card
each scored 2 touchdowns and
Justin Cain added 3
converts. In addition to
his touchdowns, Hendrie also
intercepted 3 passes in an
impressive defensive
performance.
