the first touchdown of the
game on a 25 yard scamper by

The Sylvan Learning Centre
Fire Bolts continue to
improve, upsetting the Bill
Dennis Jr. Exit Realty Twin
Bridges Inferno 18-6.
Cameron Rand ran in from 3
yards out for the only
scoring of the first half
giving the Fire Bolts a 6-0
lead at the break. On their
first possession of the
second half Dante Musokotwan
of the Inferno tied the
score on an electrifying 30
yard run. The Fire Bolts
were not deterred and
replied with a pair of
touchdowns of their own on
Rand's second touchdown and
a major by Chayton Van
Barneveld for their victory.
Peewee
The Lanxess Avengers
continued their perfect
record with a 24-8 victory
over the Vidal Pharmacy Buzz
Saw, but had to come from
behind to do it. The Jay
MacIntosh coached Buzz Saw
led 8-6 at the half on a 6
yard quarterback sneak by
Luke Lalonde and a kicked
convert by Rob Persichetti.
Nicholas Vacek scored a
major for the Avengers on a
23 yard quarterback keeper.
The second half was all
Avengers as the Buzz Saw
were plagued by numerous
turnovers. Dray Pepper,
Lucas Kita and Vacek all ran
to the end zone for the
victors.
When the Rob Simrak Magic
Realty Sky Fire and the
Robinson Design and Drafting
Vortex hook up, a close
exciting game always
results, and this tilt was
no exception. The first
half was a tight, defensive
struggle with the only score
being on a dramatic 71 yard
dash by Jackson Grasse of
the Sky Fire, giving them a
lead of 6-0 at the half.
The Vortex came out fired up
to start the third quarter
and began the second half
with a long methodical march
that concluded when hard
running Brendan Gilliard
muscled into the end zone
from the 4 yard line. The
score remained tied until
there were but 3 minutes to
go. The Vortex were driving
for what might have been the
winning score but a turnover
was committed. The Sky Fire
quickly capitalized on
this. Four plays later Josh
Foulis broke the plane of
the goal line on a
quarterback sneak for the
Sky Fire. John Cannon's
convert gave them a 14-6
lead. The Vortex offense
moved the ball down the
field in the waning seconds
but time ran out on them,
earning the Sky Fire a hard
fought victory and a date
with the Buzz Saw in the
semis.
