Jr. Vikings Edged Out Jr. Irish in LKSSAA Football Action

action on Thursday the Northern
Vikings defeated St. Pat's Jr
Irish with a final score of
12-10.
After some early back and forth,
the Jr. Irish struck first with
a 30 yard pass into the endzone
for a major. The extra point
was good. The sky opened up and
the rain poured down for most of
the 2nd quarter, causing havoc
on the field. Northern scored
in the dying seconds of the half
when Aden Alkinani rushed the
ball in from 5 yards out. The
extra point was blocked. With
the clock winding down towards
halftime, the Irish kicked a
field goal from 35 yards out.
The score was Irish 10, Vikings
6 at the half.
A scoreless 2nd half was broken
at the 5:00 min mark of the
4th. The Vikings' Andrew
Bradshaw ran the ball in from 50
yards out for a touchdown. The
extra point attempt was no
good. With the seconds winding
down in the 4th, St. Pat's had a
final shot at winning the game.
Their field goal attempt was
spoiled when the kicker slipped
in the muddy conditions.
